It’s really crazy to see just how much I use technology. I
knew that I used it quite a bit, with listening to music, doing homework, and
all of that. But breaking it down into how many hours/minutes is kind of
shocking. The total time I spent on Netflix I find a bit funny, because it
makes it seem like I’m obsessed with Netflix, and that’s all I do in my free
time. I’m not obsessed with Netflix. Yes, I do watch it a lot; but most of the
time I use it as background noise for when I’m working on homework. For some
reason, the background noise of people talking (TV shows) helps me focus more.
While all of this realization of how much I use technology is a bit shocking,
it is kind of hard to avoid or change my ways of using technology. In today’s
society, it’s difficult to not use technology to get stuff done, especially
with school. A lot of our reminders and materials are able to be found, or are
only found, on something related to technology; and while we still have our
textbooks, they only go so far with their use. I’ve said it before and I’ll say
it again; today’s society is way too dependent on technology.
I totally agree with your argument about school being related to technology! This assignment made me realize how much I look at school emails or go on D2L.
